Hundreds of interviews as a reporter... and hundreds more as the media spokesperson, even in crisis situations
There are some who offer media training without ever having worked in a print or broadcast news center. (We compare it to giving flying lessons after reading a book on it.) Some others, including many former reporters, teach media, but only have experience “asking” the questions. Michael Drake has worked BOTH sides of the microphone.
Michael has worked every position in a broadcast newsroom at television and radio stations from Florida to California. As a reporter and news anchor he has asked the tough questions. As a public information / public affairs officer on the other side of the microphone, he has given scores of interviews, conducted news conferences, and responded under fire in crisis communications situations. He has repeatedly been on CNN, Fox News Channel, NBC Nightly News, and stations throughout California and the western states, as well as international outlets. He has also been a guest on nationally syndicated radio.
Michael is also an accomplished public speaker and emcee who frequently gives presentations before groups ranging from 20 to 2000. As a professional narrator, with many years of formal training from two of the finest coaches in Southern California, he understands the fine art and science of voice and speech.
Combining his experience in the broadcast media, public speaking skills, work as an on-camera spokesman and formal training in voice and speech, he has developed one of the most comprehensive programs in media and presentation skills training available today. |
